Advanced Archery Instruction

1. Examination of the shot process.

A. Checking for all the basics covered in basic archery instruction.

B. Focus on a active shot process that uses words with actions*

C. Absolute trigger control (compound shooters) stressing the importance of taking the trigger early and controlling the activation very slow

D. Controlling the release of the string (traditional shooters) through triggers, making sure words and actions match. Separation of sighting and ignition.

E. Target focus

Compound shooters let the sight pin blur and float

Traditional shooters let the arrow or tip blur

The advantage of shooting with both eyes open and using a squint

What a shooter thinks and says during a shot is paramount to a good shot. We will teach a simple worded shot process that will guide the Archer into a solid and repeatable shot.
